My Dear Blogging Friends

*Disclaimer: This post is not meant to offend, just give an opinion

Scenario: It's a nice quiet morning (or evening, or any time of day for that matter), and I decide to do a little blog reading. I enter the site, start reading, start browsing a bit, when all of a sudden....BAM! Music starts playing and scares me half to death! I didn't ask for the music, I only wanted to read the blog, but without any warning music starts playing. Now, a nice quiet, soft tune wouldn't bother me, but sometimes the songs are really quite loud, upbeat and startling to my ears! The music always scares me, disturbs others, and causes me to either 1) frantically find the stop button (usually at the very bottom of the page) or 2) quickly exit out of the page (And no, my speakers are not turned up too loud)

It seems that all of a sudden so many of my dear blogging friends have put the "music player thingy" on their blog site.

My Dear Blogging Friends,
I don't mind if you listen to music while you blog, but I would kindly prefer to blog quietly.
I enjoy reading your blog and don't want to exit out quickly
because I can't find the music player thingy hidden somewhere on your blog.

  2. I totally understand what you mean and I at times will agree, however I do have music that plays on my blog. I feel that everyone that has a blog makes them their own which should be the case. I for example love to listen to music so since my blog is about me and my family I like to have music on it that I like and that represents or tells a story about me and my family. I love looking at blogs and seeing how each blog represents each person with what pictures, banners, and music they have on it. But like I said everyone is different :)

  3. I agree. Saying this in the kindest way possible, you listen to your music and I'll listen to mine. :) If you want to have a soundtrack, list it, but don't have it blare as soon as I get on the page.

  4. I am so with you on this one!!! It drives me crazy when there is music on someone's blog, especially when it's super loud and scares me to death! If I wanted to listen to music while I was reading blogs, I would turn on my own. Anyway, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way!

  5. I'd have to agree with Britney on this one although I do understand where you are coming from. Even though I love having friends look at my blog, my main purpose for having our blog is to serve as a family journal and not to please every single person that reads it. I guess I figure if someone doesn't want to hear the music I have on there that represents what we like at the moment, they can easily hit the mute button or just not read it at all. We aren't ones to change what we like for someone else. I think it shows personality the way someone has their blog set up. :-) That's just my opinion though. Love you!

  7. Amen! I feel the same way, so awkward while you fumble for the mute button! I hate that! I have one but it's mostly for me, I keep it off at all times pretty much.
