This weekend was wonderful.
Don't you just love feeling the satisfaction that comes from knowing you spent your time wisely and got a lot accomplished? This weekend Mike and I were able to spend a lot of time together, celebrating Valentine's day and enjoying each other's company. We went to a dance, went to eat at our favorite place (Chilis), and spent time with wonderful friends and family. Oh, and I felt the baby (really) kick for the first time!
While Mike was at work on Saturday I was able to do a lot of reorganizing and cleaning out our apartment (starting to get ready for baby). It feels wonderful! We sold our large desk that was storing quite a lot of "stuff." I was worried we wouldn't be able to recover and find places for everything. However, after some time of going through books, papers, and other things, we finally found proper homes for everything. The closets are clean, the laundry is done, the shelves are dusted, and our paper pile has been simplified. It's clean, organized, and not smashed full of hidden junk in hidden places.
It's gross how much stuff can accumulate over time (especially if we never get rid of anything). I have my mom to thank for being a great example of simplifying, clearing clutter, and organizing. And, I'm really glad Mike and I are beginning the habit now of not accumulating "stuff."
I love coming home and seeing "clean."
Me too! And oh so exciting about feeling your baby kick. That is the best feeling and I even miss it after my babies are here.
