Today, all I really want to write is that my baby is growing up too fast. It's been 3 weeks, and he's already looking completely different. I want the days to go by slower, but at the same time, it's so much fun to see how he's changing and learning and growing. He is such a precious boy. I love him so much!
-Curtis sleeps much better when he's awake in the early evening
-He also sleeps better in our bed, which is a little frustrating, but SO wonderful too :)
-I feel like I've had a baby forever
-He is the grunting king!
-I swear he's smiled at me a few times
-Mike got sick this week. They thought it was strep or mono. Thank goodness he's getting better and Curtis and I are not sick at all. I think it was just a virus.
-Hemorrhoids hurt worse than having a baby (TMI? Maybe)
-Curtis will sometimes nurse without the shield, but then the next time he won't be able to
-Anthony and Alyssa left for Georgia. We are really going to miss them. I hate that a lot of our close friends/family are moving away.
-Curtis has bad tummy pain, and cries a lot
-I'm still afraid to take him to church. One more week.
Is his bad tummy pain because of gas? Warren had it REALLY bad when he was newborn to about 2 months. He cried a lot but We found a way to get it out and help relieve him and it worked really well. Lay him on his back and massage his stomach from top to bottom (like guiding the air down) and then pick up his legs and move them in the 'bicycle ab workout' motion, then put both his knees close to his chest with a little pressure and work them down. Just a suggestion!

I am not one to like to give advice but just to give you hope, I used a nipple shield with Addi four four weeks and than she finally "got it," and went on to nurse great for 17 months:) I did go to a lactation consultant who pushed Addi to go for it which really helped, but it was SO nice not having to carry that shield around and rinse it and so forth. They do grow too fast!
