Baby Updates

*Be sure to read our Urgent Adventure story in the post below

Just a few new updates...

1. Still feeling great (for the most part). I had the 2nd severe calf cramp of my life two nights ago and I've been in fear of it happening again ever since (it was literally one of the worst pains I've ever felt). I've had only one of these nearly 3 years ago. I woke up to my calf seizing and twitching and hard as a rock. I couldn't get it to stop. Then it started to ease up and it started again! Yesterday and today I have hardly been able to walk. Does anyone know what do to to make the cramping stop if it happens again? I've been drinking a ton of water (even before this happened) and eating at least 1 orange a day (potassium is supposed to help). I think I might try bananas.

I've also been having a harder time sleeping. I get really hot and my legs get restless. Also, my back usually always hurts in the morning (I'm starting to get used to it I think).

Other than those things I really can't complain. I have a lot of energy and have been able to get a lot done. I'm hoping it lasts a couple more months so I can get the nursery finished before I get huge!

2. We made our first two baby purchases! We bought our crib and changing table/dresser this week! I searched long and hard for the best prices on both items. We ended up getting both for $282.95 ($154.32 crib/$118 changing table)...and free shipping on both. I can't wait to get them set up!

3. Baby bump photo update (I think I'm graduating into another shirt for the pictures...it's getting embarrassing to see these)

  2. Oh my gosh, Rachel. I have been suffering from horrible insomnia my entire pregnancy. The thing that got me through the first trimester (and I am VERY anti drugs... wont even take tylenol unless im about to die) is called Unisom. I take a half of a pill and it keeps me sleeping. My doc recently had to write me a prescription for a stronger sleeping pill cuz I was only getting like 3 hours of sleep but I am back to only half a Unisom and I feel great. Just make sure, if you go get some, you dont get the chewable kind. That is just benadryl (which we can take but it drys out my throat and makes me groggy)so get the swallowable ones. As far as leg cramps go, I have only had a few and they are not as bad as yours. I usually get some when I stretch in the mornings (like when I am waking up and I point and flex my toes...haha) but if I try really hard to flex my foot as high as it will go (killer pain) it makes it go away quicker. Not right away but quicker. One time I had a HORRIBLE one (before I was prego) and I had to have Rog push my foot up or I jumped out of bed and did a runners calf stretch to flex it. Try it. It MIGHT help a little. Cute baby furniture!! I love the crib. We were looking at one similar.

  3. you look adorable by the way. I wish I had a little ball formed already. Mine stretches all the way up my torso so I just look super bloated and chubby... not pregnant. My sis even told me so. haha. Thats what I get for having a torso 10 years long. Ugh.

  4. My doctor told me to take some Tums to help with the leg cramps. I would take a couple before bed and they definitley helped! In fact, I don't think I ever had a cramp after I started taking the tums. I hope that helps!

  5. The baby furniture is cute and those prices are good!! Where did you find them? I am starting to look around for furniture but I don't really know where to look. And how do you and Janica know each other?

  6. Your furniture is so cute! I've been getting the leg cramps too! They are awful, I'm definitely going to try Desirae's suggestion of Tums.
